about us

Who we are

As an industrial operator, we produce and process natural products, most often with certification programs offering maximum transparency and traceability. Envirium develops industrial activities with populations living within and around ecosystems under pressure (deforestation, poaching, etc).

our approach

We stand out in 5 ways

The time is one of climate urgency and bold action. Building on our territorial roots and our many partners, Envirium is launching an ecosystem restoration and protection program around Virunga National Park (Democratic Republic of the Congo).

Other projects will soon be added in the other geographies where the group is active (Madagascar and Papua New Guinea).

How is this different from other programs?

  • 1

    Feet on the ground approach

Our long-standing presence on the ground gives us an advantage over other carbon projects, which are often managed remotely.

  • 2

    Measurement, reporting and verification

In order to ensure maximum transparency and measure our performance, we have invested in a range of technologies inspired by our industrial activities.

  • 3

    Profitability enables sustainability

We believe that profitability enables sustainability for all stakeholders: ecosystems (zero deforestation; reforestation, protection of biodiversity); inhabitants of the region (income and a professional activity that does not destroy ecosystems); Envirium (extending a model to other territories in order to generate more impact).

  • 4

Local ownership with a proper governance

Envirium develops its projects in compliance with the rules on free, prior and informed consent, a sine qua non condition for a sustainable partnership. In addition, the governance of these restoration projects is strictly supervised by forest communities, which requires compliance with numerous standards in terms of consultation and transparency.

  • 5

    “Beyond carbon” approach

Our integration into value chains enables us to incorporate a vision that makes the project more resilient. Indeed, CO₂ storage is not our sole objective (even if it is more easily measurable). We aim to produce high-quality local food, restore biodiversity and develop sustainable economic opportunities for local communities.

OUR FIELD OF ACTION

Become a partner to strengthen the protective belt around Virunga National Park

We are building an economic and ecological buffer zone with the local communities located around Virunga National Park, in order to protect biodiversity, restore damaged ecosystems, produce quality food products and create wealth for the inhabitants of North Kivu.

By protecting thousands of hectares around Virunga National Park, we are protecting a national heritage, but above all our source of income

our model

ROOTED IN VALUE CHAINS, SO AS NOT TO DEPEND ONLY ON CARBON

In recent years, many climate projects have fallen short because they relied too heavily on the expected returns of an emerging carbon market, often with unrealistic assumptions and limited connection to local realities. When these promises failed to materialise, the communities involved in restoring and protecting forests were directly affected.

Envirium’s Invest in Nature program therefore combines ecosystem restoration with economic activities that generate tangible, short-term benefits for local communities, including food production and integration into sustainable value chains.

Carbon insetting and offsetting revenues remain part of the model, but they are not its sole foundation. For Envirium, carbon finance is an additional lever: it supports the gradual restoration of degraded ecosystems while strengthening the economic and social resilience of local communities.

Forest protection and restoration

Building a better future for humanity lies at the heart of our mission. Because trust is built through actions, we have been working alongside our partners on the ground for many years, driven by a commitment to creating lasting impacts.

Governance starting from the ground and complemented by traceability tools

In the province of North Kivu, on the edge of Virunga National Park, Envirium Carbon is already the partner of 11 forest communities whose mission is the restoration and protection of more than 240,000 hectares of forests. This model makes it possible to benefit from a clear legal framework that includes local authorities and offers stability to investors.

Through the Compagnie des Produits Agricoles du Kivu (Copak), Envirium has been present on the ground for more than 20 years. It is therefore not the project of an NGO that can go from one day to the next. Our industrial roots are a guarantee of stability and presence on the ground for investors.

The existence of these forest communities is the result of a long process that creates legal security for investors and certifiers

Furthermore, thanks to rigorous monitoring, reporting and verification systems (satellites, etc.), we guarantee the transparency and integrity of the carbon credits, while working closely with scientists and accredited certification and audit bodies.

The green corridor, a regional opportunity for regeneration and economic development

Our “Invest In Nature”  program is also fully in line with the Green Corridor, linking the East and West of Congo in order to develop economic activities while protecting ecosystems. The 240,000 hectares of forest communities available for investment must, in this context, play a fundamental role. Through its presence between Beni and Kisangani, Envirium intends to play a key role as a key actor in production and processing, as well as in the restoration and protection of the ecosystems of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Invest in nature with Envirium Carbon

What’s in it for my company?

We are looking for long-term private partners ready to invest in nature over a period of 5 to 20 years. By joining us as a nature shareholder, your organisation secures access to high-integrity carbon credits while supporting projects that deliver measurable environmental, social and economic benefits. This is more than a carbon-credit purchase. It is an opportunity to position your organisation as a leader in climate action, contribute to the restoration of degraded ecosystems and generate tangible impacts that can be highlighted in your sustainability reporting and communications.

insetting

ENVIRIUM CARBON enables companies to reduce their emissions directly within their own supply chains through Carbon Insetting, which consists of implementing sustainability projects generating immediate environmental and social benefits. Our projects make it possible to reduce the Scope 3 (FLAG) emissions of your supply chain, in accordance with SBTi requirements.

offsetting

ENVIRIUM CARBON also offers high-integrity Carbon Offsetting projects, which not only reduce net emissions, but also support ecosystem restoration and biodiversity conservation. These projects create concrete social benefits, such as job creation and improved health.

invest in nature with us

In recent years, many climate projects have not delivered the expected results because they depended on the hoped-for returns of an emerging carbon market, with expectations that were too high and, above all, a disconnection from the reality on the ground.
